Before the course

Applied-ML course: what to do before the course starts

Hardware

You will need to have a stable network connection for the online lectures, and just use your own PC/laptop. Any Unix-based OS will work. In case of in-presence lectures, charging stations will be available in the room, but not one slot per person (due to room logistics constraints), so you are suggested to charge the laptop prior to each multi-hrs lecture to comfortably stay on the safe side.

Software

A working Python 2.7x set-up (Py 3 even better) will be fine. Please set it up prior to the course start. Be aware we will quickly use: jupiter notebooks, numpy, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn (these will be used early in the course; we will need more stuff later on, and related information will come during the course in due time). All the above can be easily done e.g. via anaconda (suggested).
